چکیده

This study aims to evaluate the effect of waste engine oil (WEO) on warm asphalt mixes incorporated with materials. Copper slag (CS) and reclaimed pavement (RAP), both considered materials were used in mixes. Seven types prepared different proportions copper (0–15%) RAP (0–30%) at 5%, 7.5%, 10% WEO dosages. Marshall stability test, indirect tensile resilient modulus, flow number test was carried check performance these Also, a cracking for evaluating fracture energy mixtures. It found that CS (15%) (30%) performed similar control up 7.5% rejuvenator The incorporation (5%) improved strength due more angularity (multi-faced) frictional angle (53°) CS, resulting excellent load capacity. modulus Mix 6 (30%RAP-5% CS) observed be maximum (3310.3 MPa). use softened aged bitumen, which leads decrease stability, rutting resistance, increase energy. showed lesser presence stiff bitumen. However, addition WEO, increased indicates resistance softening action WEO. quotient, represents stiffness, decreased an content all

Evaluating the Performance of Hot Mix Asphalt with Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement and Heavy Vacuum Slops as Rejuvenator

Due to the high price of crude oil, and consequently asphalt binder, the application of Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP) in pavement technology is widely considered. The present paper is the result of a laboratory research which was carried out to investigate the effects of adding a rejuvenating agent to Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) with RAP. To this end, test samples comprised of Aged Asphalt Binder ...

Effects of Warm-mix Asphalt Additives on Asphalt Mixture Characteristics and Pavement Performance

The primary objective of this research is to evaluate the feasibility of several WMA mixtures as potential asphalt paving mixtures for Nebraska pavements. To that end, three well-known WMA additives (i.e., Sasobit, Evotherm, and Advera synthetic zeolite) were evaluated. For a more realistic evaluation of the WMA approaches, trial pavement sections of the WMA mixtures and their HMA counterparts ...

Investigation of Rutting Performance of WMA Mixtures Containing Copper Slag

Copper slag (CS) is an abrasive blasting grit made of granulated slag from metal smelting processes. As copper slags are known to be waste material and cause a lot of environmental problems, it would be a good idea to use them in different sections of industry such as pavement construction. On the other hand, in order to save energy and reduce the amount of pollutants re...
